Collegiate Leadership Initiative

(CLI)

The Collegiate Leadership Initiative has been designed to provide real training for collegiate student leaders. Collegiate leadership faces severe and unique challenges and obstacles and traditional “on the job” training programs and even “challenge” training programs are insufficient to the task at hand. Jim Fitzgerald’s experience as a trainer of trainers as well as his experience working with colleges all over the country led to the original design of our CLI.

The large number of SLTP Alumni who are actively involved on their college campus has also impacted and affected the design of this session.

The title for the session “Initiative” puts forth the intention. This session is not about passivity. The session has been designed to be a highly interactive learning experience intended to enable participants to initiate changes in themselves and in their organizations.

Among the topics scheduled for exploration are: motivation, developing membership, inclusion, recruiting and retention, meaningful meetings, conflict resolution, developing consensus and team building.

By design these seminars will be 1 day sessions and will be held regionally.
