A Typical DayTHURSDAY at LTC7:30 - 8:00 BREAKFASTAll meals are served in the college cafeteria which offers a wide variety of choices. 8:10 - 8:35 GETTING STARTED We begin every day formally (with more than a slight degree of fun mixed in) with a general assembly to set the expectations for the day. 8:40 - 9:55 BREAKAWAY # 4 10:05- 11:20 BREAKAWAY # 5 Each Breakaway is team taught by two to three instructors to groups no larger than 14. 11:30 LUNCH 12:15 - 12:45 CREW MEETING The strength of the SLTP experience is the organization of the working groups called “crews.” Each crew has a team of staffers to assist them as they prepare to apply the skills learned in the Breakaways. 12:50 - 1:45 AMERICA CELEBRATION 1:50 - 3:05 BREAKAWAY # 6 3:10 - 3:40 LT BREAKOUT A special presentation by the staff student leaders - covering issues that range from getting into college to dealing with negativity. 3:45 - 4:45 TEAMBUILDING Trust must be experienced to be understood. Positive risk taking is fundamental to leadership. 4:50 - 5:25 SCAVENGER HUNT A pure non-competitive competition. 5:30 - 6:30 COOKOUT Hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers and some not so traditional games. 6:45 - 8:15 SPECIAL PRESENTATION Our theatrical team will take the stage to present a thought provoking presentation. Last summer, they presented Bang, Bang You're Dead a nationally known play dealing with school violence and inclusion. 8:20 - 10:55 SLTP SOCIAL 10:55 WRAP / RAP A thorough exchange of the learnings and understandings gained from the entire day. Everyone’s chance to speak out. 11:10 TRANQUILLITY Summing up of the day, sharing time for reflection. 11:30 LIGHTS OUT
