Volunteer

We need your help!

We are a non-profit educational enterprise.  We are ALL 100% volunteers--there are no paid staff.  It is our aim to keep our conferences and seminars as inexpensive as possible.

In addition to the hundreds of hours volunteered by our staff, we benefit from all sorts of assistance. To begin with we receive “in kind” donations of supplies or gift certificates from local markets, office supply stores, pharmacies and warehouse stores. When we do not have to purchase necessary supplies it has the same effect as a direct donation. We also receive a few direct contributions.

How can you help?

We would be lying if we said we wouldn’t appreciate a large donation.  But that is not the only way you can help...

Most of all we need human resources.  We need help spreading the word about what we do. We cannot visit all of the Parent/Teacher Association meetings, Rotary Clubs, Jaycees, Lions or other service organizations. We have no advertising budget.  We depend on word of mouth--Spreading the word is a priceless contribution.  Most importantly of all, we don't know the students in your school--Who do you know that should be coming to our programs?

You may also want to consider applying to staff.  It is one of the most fulfilling experiences imaginable.  It involves significant sacrifice, because time is needed to participate in training and a week in the summer is needed to serve as a residential staffer.  Because our operation is entrepreneurial in nature—we are flexible.  We have in recent times expanded the staff role to include both residential and non-residential members.  We always need help with our Parent Orientation Programs.   We stage several Day Conferences—which are always on weekends, so staffing one of those is a possibility.  There is also “Connections” which is our traveling theatrical troupe, offers another way to participate.

We also need help with all sorts of tasks like phone calls, typing, collating, labeling, stuffing envelopes, and creating signs and decor.

If you’d like to help, please contact us.
