Application

Philosophies are applied through practices and methodology. In SLTP we practice Invitational Theory – that is to say we do everything we can to invite learning. We are student centered and learner driven. Our teaching methodology is in four parts:

Relational

For students to relate to what they are learning they must first relate to one another, then to the teacher and finally to the subject. The lessons should connect to one another, have connections to the students and these connections must be made.

Experiential

The lessons must be more than intellectual exercises. Students learn by watching, listening and doing. It is imperative that teachers utilize all the dimensions of learning.

Applicable

The lessons must be applicable to the students and teachers.

Learner driven

Every aspect of every lesson should be focused on the learner – on their comfort, on their sense of being.
