Teachers and Advisers

A Leadership Laboratory

Essentially there are only three ways people can learn – watching, listening or doing.  Experiential learning allows every student to become engaged in the lessoning as all modalities are in play.  Through SLTP we provide our student leaders a laboratory for the study of leadership.  In this laboratory we engage our students experientially as we study the skills, practices and ideals that comprise modern leadership theory.

The leadership laboratory provides us the platform for some serious FUN.  Our student to staff ratio and the interactive nature of the activities are directed to engage every student, personally enabling the students to connect the lessons to their specific situations.

The interactive lessons frequently involve games or problems to be solved inside or outside the box – and they always involve laughter, smiles and camaraderie.  The cooperative nature of the experiential lessons serves well to unify and tie together all of the life skill lessons.

In SLTP we put the theories of invitational learning into practice, and the end result is amazing and rewarding for both the teachers and the students.
